Early childhood

 I worked for nearly 40 years in early childhood education in a variety of roles and countries. In my final years, I was a Professor of Early Childhood Education, Founding Director of the Centre for Equity and Innovation in Early Childhood (2001 - 2010) at the University of Melbourne.

My research and writing explored gender and equity, race and cultural diversity, children's rights and voice, parent–staff relationships, and early childhood research, theory and practice.

I retired from full-time employment at the University of Melbourne in May 2010.
